Tell us what we got wrong
This site publishes numbers that can be checked against primary sources, which means it can be checked against them by you. If a figure here does not reconcile, that is worth knowing and we would rather hear it than not.
What helps
A link to the page, the figure you are looking at, and the source you are comparing it against. A certified canvass, a state election board file, or an official returns portal all work. “This number looks wrong” is harder to act on than “this page shows R+25.5, the state file shows R+25.1, here is the file.”
What happens next
Confirmed errors get fixed and disclosed rather than quietly patched. Where the error is in a source we mirror rather than in our own handling, we say which — as with Alaska 2004, where the upstream file overstates the state by more than fifty percent and we drop the cycle rather than publish it.
Known gaps
Some things are already documented and do not need reporting. The presidential county returns come from the MIT Election Data and Science Lab and are not independently reconciled against state canvasses. Alaska is published by State House district because the state certifies no borough figures. Connecticut's nine planning regions carry no presidential series. Puerto Rico's municipios have no presidential returns in our source.
